Woman Gets Drake’s Name Tattooed on Her Forehead
Posted by Metro in Uncategorized on March 14, 2012
How responsible is a tattoo artist for the strange things that people get tattooed on various parts of their body? This was the very question that Kevin Campbell faced this week, when he helped a woman get her favorite rapper’s name tattooed on her forehead.
While the name or identity of the woman remains unknown, her pictures have been circulating the internet and have turned viral. This woman has done the unthinkable, even for die-hard fans. she apparently wanted to show off her love for Drake, the Canadian rapstar, so she got his name etched in a place that no one could miss. The photographs themselves were taken by Kevin’s manager and co workers from will Rise, the L.a. tattoo shop. a close-up shot shows that the woman has shaved off her hair and eyebrows. Kevin confirms this. He says that she came in to the shop that way, asking specifically for the tattoo to be made on her forehead. she had even picked out the font beforehand. According to Kevin, she seemed to be a little high, but pretty sure of what she wanted. but when the tattoo job was nearing completion, she seemed to have lost a bit of her enthusiasm.

He did lose a night’s sleep after making the tattoo, afraid he’d be called the a-hole who tattooed “DRAKE” on some drug addict’s forehead. But he does feel that he’s done the best he could to prevent her from going ahead with it. Kevin says he’ll ask his clients three times if they are sure they think it’s a good idea, and also tell them about the potential consequences of getting a tattoo on the face. beyond that, it’s up to the customer to take the decision. He does admit though, that he had the choice to turn her away, and didn’t take it. and for that, Kevin’s already facing a lot of criticism from other tattooers.

Well, the deed is done, and quite irreversibly at that. Apparently the woman only got the outline done, and didn’t have enough money to pay for the filling. but she’s assured the folks at will Rise that she’ll be back for more.

Selena Gomez Tattoo a Declaration of Love for Justin Bieber?
Posted by Metro in Uncategorized on March 5, 2012

Selena Gomez is sporting a new tattoo which could very well be inspired by her love for boyfriend, Justin Bieber. The 19-year-old actress and singer quietly went into a tattoo parlor and got some new ink. Justin was nowhere in sight, so maybe it was a surprise for him.The two lovebirds have declared their love for each other, and Justin has even given Selena a ring. Yesterday, her little tattoo secret was exposed when a man with the Twitter name, Jordan Sandoval, revealed her new body art. after tweeting the message, he was inundated with questions from fans. Surprisingly, he took the time to answer most of them.He calmly explained he did not see Justin Bieber or any family with Selena. usually, wherever Selena is, Justin is, but not this time. Jordan claims the new ink is a small, black heart under her wrist. when asked about Selena’s demeanor, Jordan replied, “No, she wasn’t nervous. She is way cute.”The inking happened at under the Gun in Hollywood with tattoo artist Louie Gomez having the honors of permanently marking one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. A picture posted on Jordan’s account is evidence the tattoo really happened. but, the picture does not actually show the tattoo. Could this be an elaborate hoax?Jordan replied to those questions with his own, “Why would I lie.” Lots of reasons really, but mainly, because it stirs up attention. According to one of the responses, Louie is the same tattoo artist who inked Justin’s dad. That lends a little more credibility to the story.Selena is keeping quiet and has not responded to the questions fans are firing at her about the tattoo. Do you think it is real? is it a declaration of love for Justin Bieber?after her eventful day, Selena Gomez was spotted out on the town having dinner with friends. Pictures of Selena do not reveal any bandages on her wrists, but it is nearly impossible to see her inner wrists with the angle of the photos.

'Jersey Shore' recap: ‘Nothing but Nice’
Posted by Metro in Uncategorized on February 16, 2012
VINNY IS BACK! LESS COMPLAINING! MORE KARMA!
Pauly is obviously the most excited and exclaims “I got my boyfriend back I get the smush room!” oh, young love.
Riding shotgun all the way back to the house, Vinny proclaims he is ready to get laid tonight. the shore will never be safe.
While Vinny unpacks his T-shirts and skinny jeans, Pauly brings up how Mike has been acting extremely nice to everyone. the Situation just can’t seem to win. he seems to be accused of something always.
Everyone is so excited they just can’t contain themselves in the shore shack and decide Karma will feel their wrath.
The Situation calls the cab company and is told there is a 45-minute wait.
Side thought: Don’t the roommates always walk home from the club anyway? why not walk there too? Think it would be good to blow a little stink off them, you know?
Jenny calls Rodger, asking him to join them in their shenanigans. he declines.
Mike tells everyone, ironically after Vinny got a tattoo, he is going to get his first tattoo. he wants loyalty and betrayal printed on his forearms. Ronnie doesn’t believe Mike understands the definition of loyalty and thinks he is out of his mind.
Another side thought: Ronnie has the best facial expressions in the house.
The cabs are here and the gang piles in. once at the club, mike dips and goes and goes around creeping.
Pauly is smiling like a kid in a candy store because his BFF and wingman Vinny is back at Karma.
Deena dances with a Danny Devito look-a-like and Snooki pees herself on the dance floor. after Snooki urinates all over the place, she runs to the bathroom and takes a quick shore shower. If you aren’t aware, a shore shower is a shower in perfume, no water, no soap, just smelly chemicals. “Thank God, no one else saw,” she says as she runs to the bathroom. Yeah, everyone in America just saw.
After last call, everyone walks back from the club and are still giddy about Vinny being back.
The meatballs are drunk, Vinny exercises in his room and Ronnie and Sammi go to bed together. (Wait! Are they still a couple? Loving the low key Ron/Sam duo, but secretly missing the drama.)
The next morning Snooki is still fully dressed, including heels, and needs to discard the dirty underwears from the night.
With her mission complete, extension madness takes over the shore house. Deena plugs a hairdyer in with a wet hand and is electrocuted. she, at first, worries about the lack of feeling in her arm, but decides it’s nothing a few shots can’t handle.
In celebration of Vinny’s return, the roomies go to Jenks for a little Sunday Funday action. the meatballs bounce for joy!
While everyone is getting ready, Mike is acting nice and Ronnie gets suspicious. he asks Mike if he is a terrorist planning on blowing up the house because he is acting two-faced. the Situation is hurt by the comment and doesn’t understand why his roommates can’t accept him being nice for once.
Everyone bounces to the club and Mike is drawing up groups of men. the gang can’t decide if these people are actually his friends or they are just random dudes.
Snooki, the classy lady in lime green, announces she has to pee. she confesses to Deena she has been having trouble controlling her bladder. she suspects she has a urinary tract infection and needs medicine. Not the kind you get from a doctor, unless you think of the bartender as such. she orders tequila to make the pain and embarrassment of her UTI go away.
The meatballs get drunk after one shot and half a beer and the roommates decide to go to the batting cages. Mike wants to stay because there is everything he could want at the club. Dudes in bathing suits? okay.
After batting away, everyone decides to leave. Mike jumps into a cab with Deena and Snooki. FUN CAB! Mike confides he thinks the boys are plotting against him because he has been really nice to everyone. Snooki doesn’t think so and wants to be friends with Mike just like the old days, before he tried to ruin her life.
Meatballs are rolling around the house drunk when they return from the club. Snooki needs to pee and there is nothing worse than having to hold your bladder with a UTI. she runs outside and decides to relieve herself under the stairs.
Snooki, Deena and Mike try to have a discussion about what has been going on in the house with Mike and the boys. However, Mike’s member is hanging out during the entire converstation. as the roommates wander unstairs, they are shocked to find an extremely intoxicated Mike trying to tell his side with his little friend all out and about. the best part is the Meatballs didn’t even notice.
We are guessing trying to have a conversation with your penis showing can only be done when drunk.
What was of the scuttle? Ronnie’s terrorist comment.
Mike is drunk and upset. Snooki takes him aside to the secret upstairs balcony and they discuss the issue. Snooki tells Mike the reason no one can accept his kindness is because no one trusts him. she also says it is the time for Mike to start confronting people. Well, we don’t know if that is the best way to deal with the situation. Drunken Snooki gives horrible advice.
Whatever, Mike’s issues are getting dull and it’s bunny suit time! Snooki scares Pauly and Vinny after she gets into “Super sex crazy bunny” mode.
The guidos decide to play warm beer. It is a memory game where everyone makes up a move and you have to repeat everyone else’s move and add one. except, the person sitting next to the person with the warm beer gets black crap all over their face from the soot from the bottom of the can.
Snooki is sitting next to Ron who has the can. So she’s it. Everyone is laughing and Snooki is still drunk. she has no idea what is going on. her buzz lasts forever. after she finds out, she slurs “You don’t put shit on my face and get away with it.” oh, the ways you can infer that statement.
Everyone passes out, but Snooki is still ready to play. she suits up in the bunny suit and stands over sleeping Mike. Are the two going to be friends again?
The next day, Deena wants to make booty shorts for the club that read “I jersey turnpike all night.” Mike and Sammi do not seem impressed, but she doesn’t seem to care.
JWoww’s hairdresser comes down from Long Island to do the girls’ hair, but Snooki forgot her dad was coming down. he shows up and she asks him to go to the store for her. I thought she couldn’t live without her parents and loved them more than life. Fame makes you a brat.
She informs her father she is suffering from a UTI. he asks her how she got it and she just stares at her roommates. Whoops.
Back at the Shore Store, Mike goes on break and finds Rodger out on the boardwalk. he thinks it is weird he is hanging out down at Seaside Heights and won’t return Jenni’s phone calls. as usual, Mike can’t wait to get home and spill the beans.
Deena is being emotional about nothing again. Every shore house has a crier right? the entire house can’t be all sociopaths.
After work, Mike runs home and tells Jenni he saw her boyfriend while on break.
Jenni is MAD and Mike keeps apologizing. he says the real troublemaker is Snooki Snickers. after his realization, Mike the pain is back and ready to stir the pot. he gets up to call jionni, Snooi’s boyfriend, and CLIFFF HANNNGER!!
“They pee outside and drink out of bowl” –Pauly“We don’t need pets” –Vinny

Native of Nochistlan, Zacatecas, a city in the rural part of Mexico that people know very little about, a city where tradition and family values are practiced in everyday life. Who would of thought that much of the art from across the border known as “Chicano art” is admired by the locals and has such influence as it did for Omar Hernandez. That along with childhood mentors such as his grade and middle school teachers lit up his love for art. Omar recalls his grade teacher always drawing on the chalkboard and using that as a tool to teach. from then on his love for drawing and sketching grew and his interest inspired daily practice of his love.
Drawing robots to compete with a friend as to who’s was better, is one of the best memories Omar has of his early years. being nicknamed “El Santito” for his good boy and quiet nature, also allowed others to initiate what would lead to friendships. Throughout middle school he continued to study and be a fan of the “Chicano Art”, which was introduced by people he knew that would travel back and forth to California. Drawing clowns, portraits, and Aztec art Omar increased his drawing technique landing his first paying job as an artist in high school, making a “Pancarta”, a political banner/poster used for rallys or political events. the inspiration to do what he loved and make a living out of it was short lived, and in 1996 his family made the move to Anaheim, California.
Residing in Orange County quickly proved that the lifestyle he presumed from the art was not the reality. Living in a neighborhood ruled by gangs, racist police, and violence Omar maintained his nature, and never fell victim to that of his surroundings. Working part-time at McDonalds and attending school part time didn’t affect his artistic side, taking his first art class as an adult, the inspiration became even stronger leading him to his first art exhibit and placing first for a portrait. soon after he was introduced to Shaggy, a local owner of tattoo studio in Los Angeles.
Continuing his work ventures, he became a factory worker at a warehouse, but this experience could of changed his path in life as we know it. Suffering a traumatic accident, one that resulted in cutting off his index and middle finger of his right hand. Omar recalls that day and says the first thing he thought of was the possibility of not being able to draw again, that exact feeling brought him to tears. three surgeries and six months later and with continuation of therapy, he slowly started drawing again. Recovered and jobless after the warehouse had shut down, Omar decided to go to school, for graphic design. Completing and receiving his degree was not enough for the industry due to the not so perfected English he spoke, resulting in no money and bills to pay. Already with a good friendship established with Shaggy and being a frequent visitor at his shop he was offered a position, not as an artist, but as a helper in the shop. Not even one full week after being hired he was given the opportunity to tattoo, and was not bad at it considering his little experience. Gaining the admiration of Shaggy as well as the clients he tattooed he continued to develop himself as a tattoo artist and learn all he could in the 2 years he was there.
His next move would be to Hollywood where he worked in several tattoo shops alongside some of today’s well known artists like; Mike Chambers and Chuey Quintanar, one of Omar’s mentors Chino, an artist out of Mexico City. Learning and increasing his knowledge for 3 years in Los Angeles, Houston would be his next move. Within 2 weeks upon his arrival he began tattooing at Higher Image. Continuing to gain experience, and work at several tattoo shops such as House of Pain, Phat Kat, and I-45 Ink gave him a better prospective of the type of artist he wanted to be. ending his 3 year streak at I-45 Ink, Omar knew it was time to make a change and become more stable. With about one year of much planning and budgeting on November 1st, 2010 Los Muertos Tattoo Studio would open their doors for the first time.
Located in the heart of the city’s art, old wearhouse district, and being the only tattoo studio in the area, it was already at its own level. Unlike any other tattoo establishment, the love for art and rich culture is obvious. the display of art, hand crafted artifacts, and welcoming environment is by far one of the best put together tattoo studios I have seen. the vision is to have it be an all custom and exclusive studio, Omar explains. the direction to becoming successful is different, on the approach Omar is taking. He wants other artists to work with him not for him. He wants the success to be owed to a collaboration of hard work, and good artists. Omar will be celebrating the one year anniversary by having his very first art exhibit October 29th, “Dia De Los Muertos” Art Show. all together, the transition of becoming an artist to becoming both a business man and an artist is owed to the great support and help from his family, specially his wife Adriana. “If it wasn’t for AD I don’t know what I would do”, he states. With her administrative and business knowledge, and his talent and particular nature, Los Muertos is growing in success.
Omar continues to grow as artist, doing a variety of styles in his tattoos, developing his own technique, and learning from other’s great work or mistakes is what continues to make him one of Houston’s best. With his 3D trademark tattoos, and being responsible to start this fab, his work continues to increase in quality and uniqueness.
“If you cross your hands, and think that you are the best, that’s when you start sucking. Consistency, creativity, and always being on your toes are what makes you a good tattoo artist”. – Omar Hernandez

Tattoos: kitsch or cool?

When growing up, the only guys in our town that had tattoos were considered as gang members and hooligans.
However, these days though tattoos are quite fashionable and young and old, male and female are getting hooked on tattoos. There are even a couple of older ladies who have had tattoos for their birthdays.
Back then and even today tattoos still posses different types of meaning and some people always choose to interpret what theirs means from their own perceptions.
The elderly and mostly in the corporate world have seen them as a sign of rebellion, whereas there are those tattoos that depict love. other people have found this type of body art fascinating and worth doing just to feel different and unique. There are the ones that always sparked debates especially when they are viewed rebellious or related to gang memberships.
Mmegi has learnt that the word tattoo is said to have two major derivations- from the Polynesian word ‘ta’ which means striking something and the Tahitian word ‘tatau’ which means ‘to mark something’. Believe it or not, some scientists say that certain marks on the skin of the Iceman, a mummified human body dating from about 3300 B.C., are tattoos.
If that ’s true, these markings represent the earliest known evidence of the practice. Tattoos found on Egyptian and Nubian mummies date from about 2000 B.C. in 1991, a five thousand year old tattooed mummified man, made the headlines of newspapers all over the world when his frozen body was discovered on a mountain between Austria and Italy. he had apparently been hunting and was caught in a snowstorm as he tried to return home.
Together with the body were clothing, a bow and arrows, a bronze axe and flint for making fire. they realised that he was more than 5,000 years-old.
He had been under ice for all those years, so his body, clothes and equipment was extra-ordinarily well preserved. he had 58 tattoos on his body. His tattoos were only simple dots and little lines. since the tattoos do not represent anything – like animals and the like, speculation has been made as to their meaning.
The truth will never be found, but theories and speculations will be made.in an enlightening conversation with one of Botswana’s top tattooist, Obakeng Loy Segokgo, says tattoos are all done in a very distinct style, achieving this casual elegance takes practice. “Those choosing to go with the tattoo look will find it does require a little more than average amounts of maintenance.” Loy Segokgo explains that for the past few years he had been doing body art on many different people of different cultures and professions around Gaborone and South Africa, and has never really experienced any difficulty or complications with his clients. he says he started as a fine artist back in school, “but in recent years, I developed interest in body art, I am quite amazed at the skill I have acquired in such a short time,” he says. he says he manages to earn a decent living by tattooing, mostly varsity students coming in large numbers. he refutes that the local industry is still lagging behind and the business seems too stagnant at times.
Elaborating on different types of tattoos he says, where any image is drawn with a realistic look, whether it be a floral design, an animal, or any other image in it’s natural state are considered naturalistic tattoos, he says.
According to Loy Segokgo, the skill level required to ink these designs varies according to the image selected, but for the most part, the artistic and technical talent required is high. he says the other type he explained was the stylised tattoos which are one of the most difficult types to ink, some common images for these types of tattoos, are hearts, flowers, zodiac signs or even faces of men and women. “These types of tattoos will reflect the artistic style of the tattooist.” “Abstract tattoos were born of the first body art ever recorded, dating back thousands of years. Originally of tribal roots or oriental scripts, these early types of tattoos are some of the most popular today, he points out. Which ever tattoo a client chooses, he says they have to remember that the design choice is an expression to them and “their unique personality, not only as it is today, but tomorrow as well, the image they choose will be there forever.”
However, considering the permanency, “tattoos can be removed through laser surgery and they have it in South Africa and other countries,” he adds. Thato Tshireletso, ABM student says, some tattoos express personal, meaningful art or messages. “Therefore, one may do a tattoo to express love, but mostly, we student do them to feel or belong to a group and to be different,”he says. Loud, excessive tattoos can ruin your work prospects and hold you back in many ways. Life is transient, especially these days and the partner who so badly wants you to have a tattoo may only be around for a few years.
Will your next partner feel the same about tattoos? There are no guarantees that they will! however, what I am really trying to say is think very carefully before you have tattoos. if you decide that they are for you, consider the placement and type of tattoo. Make sure that the tattooist is reputable, has a well-established business and a proven track record. if you do not you could end up with more than just a tattoo.
